HP DVD300e came from best buy with computer, No Install cds included How do I install it? I went back to best buy and they have told me they no longer carry the dvd300e. Any Ideas or suggestions?

Isn’t Best Buy are real ‘Nice’ “Customer Service” oriented business?

They are so ‘Nice’ of a “Customer Service” oriented business their employees couldn’t even open their mouths to suggest that you visit the Hewlett-Packard Web Site for HP DVD Writer DVD300e Installation Discs.

Being a good CDFreaks Forum Member I have done the Web Search Research for the Hewlett-Packard Web Site for HP DVD Writer DVD300e Installation Discs that the Best Buy folks where too lazy to do for one of their customers. Unfortunately there is a $9.95 charge for HP DVD Writer DVD300e Installation Discs plus tax and shipping charges not to mention a 5-7 day shipping time.

Personally I would return the HP DVD Writer DVD300e External Drive back to Best Buy and inform them since they failed to provide the HP DVD Writer DVD300e Installation Discs when you purchased the DVD300e External Drive and seeing that Hewlett-Packard charges about a $15 free for the HP DVD Writer DVD300e Installation Discs that you are returning the DVD300e External Drive and are demanding a refund. If they balk I would demand to see the store manager.

If you are compelled to obtain an External Drive from Best Buy take the HP DVD Writer DVD300e External Drive “Refund Money” and then purchase an External Drive that Best Buy has in stock ensuring that the replacement External Drive has all the Installation Discs.

Well thanks a bunch,
I went ahead and got the Install disks... Cheaper than getting another drive... BUT only to find out that it wont read a disk at all. Weather its blank or not, It wont read it.... My computer recognizes it in my computer as DVD/CD-RW Drive, and when you put a disk in it blinks on the Burner and the little CD icon shows up by the mouse cursor, but nothing happens. And when you open my computer and click on the drive, it just says, " Please insert a disk into drive e:/. Any ideas Before i go nuts?

can you try the drive with another computer? If it fails also, there might be a hardware problem with the drive which should be covered by warranty.
