Hey Gurus,

Just bought a HP 1070i SATA writer. The new drive doesn't read the blank media when inserted. I'm using DVDfab and when i put a disk in, it opens right back up saying to instert compatable media to start the write process. Any ideas? I've been using Sony DVD+R media before my Sony DRU-190A took a crap on me.

i have the same problem hp do not have any firmware upgrades on there site, out of coinsidence what version of firmware is on your dirve?

Even a dvd burner cannot "read" blank DVD media.

Open up nero cd dvd speed, insert a blank media and check what it displays...
