dvd drive reads cds only
| CD and DVD Writers Discuss, dvd drive reads cds only at Computer Hardware forum; dvd drive will read cds but not dvds, the drive shows activity with a dvd, I also have a dvd burner installed and it is working fine so the software I have is working with my primary drive. Is it possiable my dvd laser light is burned out? |

| Hi and Welcome! seems your drive is dying. Inability to handle one type of media (CD or DVD) is a sign for a hardware failure. If there is an opportunity to try the drive in another computer, this is the last check you can do. Michael |
