It still works fine as a regular CD-ROM and can read all CDs. it gives the following error message in the Event Viewer: " Details Product: Windows Operating System ID: 11 Source: Cdrom Version: 5.2 Symbolic Name: IO_ERR_CONTROLLER_ERROR Message: The driver detected a controller error on %1. Explanation This problem is typically caused by a failing cable that connects the drive to the ***puter. User Action Replace the cable. User Action Replace the cable " I'm pretty sure that the error is not with the cable and is in the configuration somewhere. I have tried uninstalling the drive and the IDE controller, and i have run a Registry correction program but it still will not work. I have also tried updating the drivers and installing the latest version of Nero but it did not help. Any help would be appreciated, thanks magsx999 |
