CD and DVD Writers Discuss, CDR/DVDR Question at Computer Hardware forum; Currently I only have a DVD-ROM. I would like to be able to burn mostly CD's & some DVD's - mostly data and some movies - no xbox games or anything. Which of the following 2 options would you recommend? 1) Lite-On SOHW-812s (for burning both) or 2) NEC 2500A

Or is there a better solution?

Thanks,

If you're burning mostly CDR, then a LiteOn drive is a clear advantage. The 812 will burn decent DVD's but only on high quality media. I'm a multi-drive guy, obviously, so I always vote for having as many drives as possible, because it gives you many more options for reading and burning at the same time.
