Hi,

All the instructions to backup my PS2 games seem simple enough until I tried it and is still churning out coasters. I have the LG 4120B A104 firmware and a modded PS2 (direct booting of all backups, not sure which modchip).

I have had success boot all kinds of originals (PAL/NTSC) or backups (from cheapos to Verbatim). However, when I load my own backups created by this DVD writer, it starts out fine with the white PS2 logo and then freezes on the black screen.

I've tried Verbatim 4x/8x burned at the slowest speed (sometimes, the slowest is 2x), Ritek G04. All DVD-R, nothing works. I've used Alcohol 120%, DVD Decrypter (mostly), Nero 6.

What to do next? I have the HD Loader and I managed to get the ISO into the harddisk and out into the computer. So I know the ISO file is good. Do I need the MDS file to burn the ISO in DVD DEcrypter? Or should I look to other programs?

Are you just doing a regular disc copy or are the source files from D/L? Have you tried upgrading the firmware?

I'm doing a regular disc copy. At first I thought the ISO was bad, but when I load it into the harddisk, it works fine. However, certain games won't work in the HDLoader, so I'll still need to make backups.

Yes, I have upgraded to the latest firmware. I really don't know how else to proceed :-( I bought the DVD writer just for that reason.
