How can I copy a PS2 game so that I copy the boot code to the backup as well? I have a modded-PS2 and I can play any backup games without a problem. However, I want to use Action Replay MAX to cheat and play the backup games...I am unable to that because the boot sector is not copied to the backup.

I know there are ways you can do that as some games I made actually work with Action Replay because the boot sector is copied to it. But most of my game DOES NOT work with action replay. Can anyone please help?

Thanks

Is it true that I need to burn the backup slowly? or some sort of setting I need to alter?

Because I have a backup that has a bootable code on there, but when I make a BACKUP of the BACKUP, all I do is using CloneCD to copy the disc.... the new backup wouldn't boot with Action Replay anymore...WHY IS THAT???

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of the boot code. For the original PSX, it is a deliberate wobble that is placed into the lead-in. The wobble cannot be burned on a CDR because the CDR has a pre-set wobble called the ATIP that provides the drive with a "groove", so to speak, which acts as a starting point for the burner and as a guide. While its not completely hopeless, the only way to fool the PSX into thinking a copy is the real deal is to mask the ATIP wobble and somehow burn the SCEx wobble.

With the PS2, it is suspected that the protection is a similar wobble, however, it has to be applicable to both the CD games and the DVD games, so I don't know if its located in the lead-in or the lead-out.

This has been hashed out for a long time, check out the various threads in the Optical Storage Technical Discussion forum.
