help update easycd creator 5.0

Burning Software Discuss, help update easycd creator 5.0 at Software forum; Hello, i have downloaded the easycd creator update 5.1 platinum but it wont update easycd creator 5.0 platinum it says update failled install easycd creator 5.0 again. please help __________________ CU DOPPIE....

    Hello,

    i have downloaded the easycd creator update 5.1 platinum

    For some reason I had to do that too. After doing it all over again, ECCD 5.1 works fine for me.

    I suggest downloading the v5.1 update again in case the download may have been corrupted.

    Follow the instructions exactly in How to cleanly uninstall / reinstall Easy CD Creator 5 in Windows XP except for the update link at the bottom of the page. This is an old update and shouldn't be used.

    Before reinstalling EZCD from the installation disk be sure to close all unnecessary background applications. Do no install any patches. Version 5.1 doesn't need WinXP patches and shouldn't have them. Close background applications again before updating to v5.1.

    After I made the last post, I ran across a simpler fix that may solve the problem.

    Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32 and find a file called RoboEx32.dll

    Right click on Properties and remove the Read Only attribute.

    Try the v5.1 update again. If it installs properly this time, problem solved. Go back to the RoboEx32.dll file and restore the Read Only attribute.
