| I am trying to format a CDRW as a CDR using DirectCD but since it is detected as a cdrw disc i don't have the option of formatting it as cdr media. I can do this with easy cd creator. i want to know how i can change or turn off the detection of the cdrw disc so that i can choose or just have the cdrw detected as a blank cdr disc. by doing this, i save a lot of space, about 123mb, which would otherwise be lost in the formatting of the cdrw disc in cdrw format. i use cdr media with directcd and it doesn't waste 123mb, which is lost in formatting the cdrw disc. I am using easy cd creator 5 with an LG cdrw drive 32x10x40 on a pentium II 300mhz dell optiplex GXa, using windows 98 first edition. |

| Packet writing adds the overhead otherwise a 700MB CDRW = a 700MB CD-R If you premaster on a CDRW then there's no issue. If you burn a game CD image to a CDRW then, generally, there's no issue except for burning speed. Before you do this, the disc must be erased if it's been used previously. To make it a bit plainer, you don't have to format the CD-RW as a CD-R, just erase it ![]() If you have DirectCD installed then it will continue to 'lock' the drive with the CD-RW in it
