| Thanks to a lot of advice and help from all of you I have made a few purchases and am having a friend install them next week (DVD drive, Fire wire, Canopus 100). I love my music and you’ve also been helpful with which CD-R disks are best (seems like Taiyo Yuden and or Ritek). Now it comes to burning & editing software. As far as the burning the main three I’ve heard the most about are #1. Nero 6 #2. Blaze Media Pro and #3. RecordNow Max. Editing, I’m up for suggestions. What I want is one that has the most options, easy to understand and use, and with good support. One thing I like about Nero (as far as recording CD’s) is the ability to eliminate that pause between recordings, but I’ve tried downloading their burning suite 6 and for some reason have had trouble establishing it on my system. I downloaded & installed Blaze Media Pro, and while I loved the sound reproduction there was a pop before every song and a couple of times it came up with a warning that my system resources were low, & it froze a couple of times (maybe these are things that can be fixed). Well I digress. If you have any ideas concerning some of the products I’ve mentioned above (especially first hand experience), or have some other products or ideas that will help me get the best out of my audio, and the clearest cleanest results on my video (transferring VHS to DVD & copying & burning CD’s & DVD’s). Please Lay it On Me.

| IMO... Editing - VirtualDubMod (Free) Doesn't support advanced editing but it'll do fine for simple captures. Authoring DVDs - DVD-Lab and/or TMPGEnc DVD Author DVD-Lab is a bit more advanced than TMPGenc and has more features but if you want a simple interface go for TMPGEnc. Burning CD/DVD's - Nero 5.5.10.42+ (You'll probably get it with your DVD burner) or 6.X. It's a matter of preference :) For other software recommendations check your earlier threads. //Danne |
