Best general purpose CD / DVD burning software

Hi everyone,

A friend and I are currently looking for any (Free or purchaseable) CD / DVD burning software other than Nero, which we find to be a tad to bloated. This led to us realising that we don't know what exactly the best such software(s) are. Would you be able to tell me what in your opinion is the best CD / DVD burning software (Not for movies, but for day to day burning). Doesn't matter if it's Nero if you think that it is the best (Please post that then ).

Thanks in advance!

There are various free apps that combined will do most of what you need.

I use ImgBurn for burning movies , ISO images and some data CD/DVDs.

Burrrn for Audio CDs.

And finally CDBurnerXP Pro for anything else.

Check out Ashampoo's Burning Studio. Price and program size are very good. Works with many types of projects. Trial is FREE, btw.

DeepBurner Free might be an option.

Re: Best general purpose CD / DVD burning software

Hello,

I have been studying these forums for sometime and am grateful for the knowledge I have gleaned. Despite what I have read that has badmouthed DVD Cloner IV I have been unable to find out why. I am able to split a D9 to (2) D5s or compress a D9 to a D5 with or without subtitles, extra soundtracks, commentaries or even extra features. When I burn a D9 to (2) D5s I am unable to see a difference between the original through a HDMI cable into my brand new Philips 42" plasma. I HIGHLY recomend DVD Cloner IV. They even have tech support and free upgrades for six months all for $39.00.

K3b running on Linux. Free in both senses of the word.
http://www.k3b.org/

If you really want to avoid bloatware, you can run cdrecord
(cd burning) and/or growisofs (DVD burning) from the command
line.

Because DvD Cloner stoled DvD Shrink's code, rebranded and are now selling it to you. They had a few slip ups along the way that got them caught. This is one example.

Do you work for DVD Cloner? Your post is great "advice" or is it a sales pitch?, somehow I think it's a sales pitch.

Thank you. As I mentioned I had been wondering WHY???
Had I known this I wouldn't have purchased. While what I said sounded like a sales pitch it came from the limited burning experience I have had (dec. 2006). I had used 1click dvd pro until it puked on CASINO ROYALE. I then scoured the forums for data before searching for quality, ease of use, ease of defeating copy protection on my own DVDs and price information. CloneDVD IV fit those the best. As I said earlier had I found information showing plagarized code I would have bought elsewhere.

Re: Best general purpose CD / DVD burning software

Free = DVD Shrink
Free + Updated = DVDFab Decrypter +ImgBurn

Stolen code + $ = DVD Cloner ¡V
