| Asus DRW- 24B1ST Stopped Burning Hello. My old dvd burner died and I replaced it with a Asus DRW- 24B1ST burner. I installed it and it worked very well for approximately 2 months. The other day I went to burn a DVD as normal and it failed in the middle of the burn. I thought it was because I switched burning media, so I ordered my Verbatim DVD's from newegg. I tried burning a couple and they both failed again. Instead of trying to problem solve, I reformatted my computer. (It really needed it) I am now running Windows 7 Ultimate and I still cannot burn my DVD image file. I tried another file and still was not successful. The burns stopped at 1% ![]() Any help would be appreciated. I can supply any information requested. I have included the log from Nero for the moment. | I believe I figured it out. I researched online and found a post talking about the actual physical connections. Well it just so happens that a week or two back I disconnected my entire computer to dust it out. I used a can of compressed air. I think I either did not connect the sata cable back in completely, or dust got in the connection from my wild cleaning. I used a can of compressed air, gave each connector a quick spray and reconnected the drive back up. It now works like a champ once again. Very interesting that the computer would have recognized it, yet not let it perform to its fullest capacity because of the loose connection/dust buildup. |

| yes... it is official. I have now successfully burned several dvds with no issues. It's always good to start with the basics I suppose! |
