| Sad thing is that for some reason, even these packaged from NewEgg (normally great at packaging) have come in with the top 2-5 scratched or damaged enough that they aren't usable, because there's no foam spacers. Also, too many have reported the plastic covers being seriously cracked b/c of poor packaging, so these have really gotten manhandled during shipping, too. This is too much like "buyer beware," and it seems from the reviews this is the lower-grade Verbatim that been being reported, of lower quality and significantly worse burn results. If you buy these from the info. already there, good luck...

| I've never bought a Verbatim spindle that didn't have foam spacers. They are the same "grade" as any other Verbatim media. |

| I was only quoting from the shipping/packaging problems all users reported at NewEgg from buying under this deal. I had bought Verbatims from Amazon that had a foam spacer wayyyy back when, but I merely quoted the purchasers review's from NewEgg.

| A couple of months ago I went through a spindle of these 95102's. Almost all of the discs had some type of grease on their hubs, on the underside of the discs. It was bad enough that I had to carefully wipe the hubs before burning the discs. It was such a PITA that I haven't bought any Verbatims since. Has anyone else run into this? I've burned thousands of discs of various types over the last 12 years and never saw anything like that before (or since). |

| The Verbatim 16x -R discs (MCC03RG20) do not work nearly as well for me as the Verbatim 16x +R discs (MCC004). YMMV, and this is an excellent deal. |

| Prodisc MCC03RG20 is better than that made by CMC in my experience. As far as MCC004 goes, flip a coin. |

They didn't burn badly, just not as well as I had gotten accustomed to with the 8x Verbatims. Same goes for all 16x media I've tried, come to think of it. I'd better stock up on TY T02's before they stop making them. I'm wondering if 16x media/drive strategies just need the kinks worked out, or if the quality (along with price) is just going to continue to go down from here? I'm not optimistic. I think I'd REALLY better start stockpiling some 8x TY's. |
