Sears has Sony DVD+R 25 for 6.99$

Again another thank you goes out for this thread & the ppl responsible!

The Sears over here had 10 packs of Sony 8x DVD+R's, and they are T02 ^_^.

I also picked up a pack of Sony 8x DVD-R's, they are SONY's, not TY02...

I grabbed the only two 25-packs at the Sears I visited today. It also had two 50-disc spindles of Sony T02s; hopefully those will go on sale soon.

Has anyone also thought to check Kmart? Hey - they sell craftsman tools and probably some other "sears only" brands. Seems like a great price.

They did not have any of the 25 spindles in stock but they had a load of the 50 spindles, and I asked the manager if he would give me 2 X 50 spindles for the price of 4 25 spindles and he said yes, so I guess I made out lucky. The first time I have seen the 8X Yuden000-T02-000 with the Octogon spacer. I noticed the octogon spacers on the TYG03 Sony Media but not the Yudens. Batch 1138. Good stuff.

Yeah, Kmart is definitely a place to check for Sony TYs. The problem is they don't PM! So you have to wait for Kmart to have a sale to pick up media there. Fortunately, they have sales pretty regularly.

8X , Made In Japan and octagonal foam spacer on the top of discs

To my knowledge, only the 50 pack's of Sony TY have octagonal spacers. The 25 packs do not have the space. Just look for Made in Japan.

None of the Sears by me have any that are MIJ.

That is correct, at least for the Sears in my neighborhood, all the 50spindles of MIJ Sony branded Yudens had the Octogon spacer. Thay had no 25 pack MIJ as I really could not tell. 8X+. The " Fabrique a Japan " near the UPC code is a dead giveaway.

sears Sony 50pc is octagon spacers but BB is different it is round spacer and
also Yuden T02 50pc ( last year I buy ) I just found out

25 and 50 pack Sony 8x +R media that is MIJ is TY no matter what the spacer looks like.

For everything else, you must find an octagonal spacer (that includes 8x -R, 16x -R, 16x +R, and anything in a 100-pack).

If the package is MIJ but the spacer is round, the media is Sony's own, and not TY (but it's still good media and you should buy it).

That's about as simple as I can make it. People always get confused in understanding the different types of media you can find in a Sony package. It's really simple, but you have to know the history and the rules.

about round spacer I got from BB last year more than 20 case (50pc) it is all Yuden T02. I still got unopen Sony Yuden T02 I'm really confused now

I just told you, with Sony 8x +R media in a 25-pack or a 50-pack, the spacer doesn't matter. It's irrelevant.

It is "Made in Taiwan" in my local Sear store.

The 8x MIT are Sony D11's, which don't seem too bad from the DVD Media Test thread.

First of all, I just wanted to thank the ppls who started the Sears has Sony DVD+R 25 for 6.99$ thread. I went to my local Sears (Dallas suburbs) and found 2 25pks of MIJ Sony DVD+R 8x (YUDEN000T02) and the rest where MITs. I am going to check the next closest Sears to see if they had some MIJs available. thx agian

Funny, I was at a local mall today and decided to stop by Sears to see what kind of media they had. The shelves were stuffed with MIJ stuff. Sony 25pc and 50pc spindles of T02, and a whole bunch of MIJ Maxell 8x DVD-R.

I'll hoard T02 as readily as the next CDFreak, but it isn't worth $22.99 / 50pc to me--I didn't have any coupons. So I left all that nice media on the shelves. If the Maxell 8x DVD+R had been MIJ, though, I'd have cleaned them out.
