Re: Next weeks ads (6/18/06 US)

hahaha, BWigg, you got ripped off, did you see my RicohJPHR03 Scan, near perfection, and by the way, the serial number starts with D110*******R, bought it a couple of weeks ago, $20 for a spindle of 100 OD 16X +R. Well I burnt it with my BenQ 1640. I will test it on The 1655 and my NEC 3500 when I have a chance.

Re: Next weeks ads (6/18/06 US)

The top disc on my spindle of OD +Rs had the # D110.....R (which is why I bought the pack), but the others are D012.......R.

Re: Next weeks ads (6/18/06 US)

Well, my order of Office Depot branded 16x +R discs arrived today. The first spindle is RICOHJPNR03, and here is the first burn. About what I expected, not great but fairly good for 17 cents each delivered.

This is burnt on my Benq1655 at 12x using ImgBurn.

Very decent Henry, for .17 each I think you got a good buy. Now that Tys are alsmost extinct in retail stores it is great that you and other are willing to try these medias. I thankyou.

Two more scans from the same batch as earlier. One burnt in a Liteon 165P6S with MS0N and the other in a NEC/Mad dog 4550 with 1.F2. I can't remember which burn is in which drive.

Re: Next weeks ads (6/18/06 US)

The OfficeDEPOT DVD+RW media in the newer looking packaging (solid dark blue around a white inner label) at my store was RITEK0040. Checking out how it works right now. Too bad CDSpeed 4.5.1 can't 'create test disc' on a DVD+RW with my SHM-165P6S. Wierd. Having to resort to 'other means'. Report to come.....

Re: Next weeks ads (6/18/06 US)

WoW, you are really got robbed BWigg, I am sure the ritek F16 will burn better than that. Did you just pick random spindles or were you trying to locate D110*****R spindles??

@HenryNettles, burn a 2nd disc, your solid burn has kicked in and your firmware has learned the disc. I am sure you will see improvement.
And you are so lucky to even get ricohjpnr03 since you have them delivered. You could end up getting Ritek.

Re: Next weeks ads (6/18/06 US)

Geez you guys know how to make someone feel good! The Office Depot DVD+R media was in the newer looking packaging. I didn't look at every pack, but most had d0127 in the serial number. Funny thing is that they play fine and have a good transfer curve when read.

Re: Next weeks ads (6/18/06 US)

I picked up more OD +R media yesterday and here is what I found.

1) D0124*** = RiTEK R05
2) D0127*** = RICOHJPNR03
3) D1108*** = RICOHJPNR03
4) VR5P16*** = RiTEK P16

I would love to see what your results are!

Re: Next weeks ads (6/18/06 US)

Great, I just wonder seeing they play well if it's just the benQ jitter showing high errors, kprobe should give us a better view of what's going on.

thanks

Re: Next weeks ads (6/18/06 US)

i just got back from my office depot. i didn't buy any...every single spindle has a big sticker over the top. they looked like packing labels almost like you'd see on the outside of a box. i tried to pull one off but it started to rip. then i tried to peel it back from the other side and it started pulling the plastic off so i gave up.

every single spindle was covered like this.

i didn't want to take the chance so I just left.

i'm getting ready to bite the bullet and jump on the next decent online deal fot good media. it's really too abd because shopping and finding bargains is one of my favorite hobbies.

also, i remembered as I walked into office depot today that they also to the $3 off with an ink cartridge. I think they're pickier than staples is as far as what ink cartridges they accept. I didn't think before i left the house. If i had had an ink cartridge on me I probably would have taken a chance on one of those spindles. oh well.

Ahh it is ugly then.

Was hoping for your sake it was just the benq jitter but it doesn't look that way.

One more question. Does the serial # printed on the center of the disc in black start with "K"?
