Maxell DVD+R/-R 25 spindle for $6.99 @ OD

Link to +R

Link to -R

I haven't seen MIJ spindles of 16X from maxell from my local OD, I checked out 3 OD already and found none. So good luck out there because I really want to try 16X maxell own media, I really want to try MXLGR004 and MaxellR004, they are certainly the rarest media.

Oh Yeah, I dont know if this is online deal only or not. But you can certainly order online and choose in store pickup.

Re: Maxell DVD+R/-R 25 spindle for $6.99 @ OD

I see nothing on their web site to indicate the speed of the media (8x or 16x). Looking at VideoHelp.com, it looks like this could be one of several different medias, most of which are not particularly good.

Re: Maxell DVD+R/-R 25 spindle for $6.99 @ OD

Look at the picture, and 8X or 16X has the same sku number, same bar code, you can make a purchase and choose in store pickup, then head to OD and you have the option for either 8X or 16X, up to you assuming they still have 8X left in stock.

And thats why you look for Made In Japan spindles and thus it eliminates all the "not good" media.

Good luck finding MIJ 16X spindles at this time... as far as I know they don't exist in this market. If you want MIJ 16 Maxell, you'll need to buy jewel cased packs

Just to mention, the 16x +R I have are MAXELL003, not 004

And this is one time I'm glad to live in the UK - the MIJ ones, although in jewel cases, not spindles - are starting to pop up regularly in my local supermarket

I knew those Maxell003 discs were someplace because they are not here in the USA, you always get the good stuff first in the UK. I don't think they are available in spindles yet. I would love to see some BenQ scans with this media.

Re: Maxell DVD+R/-R 25 spindle for $6.99 @ OD

My Mistake, they are MXLR003 and Maxell003. Anyway, I haven't seen MIJ spindle or in jewel case one yet. I've been to several OD and KMart/Walmart, haven't seen MIJ 16X.

@alan1476, I remember reading something about maxell 16X maxell media. And some1 posted that they are a lot better than Yuden003 and TYG03. I just dont remember where I read it. And thats why I am so eager to find the media and test it out myself.

Hehe, but you guys from the US always get better sales and offers than we do

When I next have reason to burn one, I'll burn and scan it on my 1650 for ya.

Where I get them here is a supermarket called Asda - which is owned by Wal-Mart, BTW...so hopefully you guys will be able to find some in Wal-Mart in the near future

And yeah, it *is* very good media!

Re: Maxell DVD+R/-R 25 spindle for $6.99 @ OD

WoW, NICE, look at the total PI errors, awesome. The total PI is lower than some total PIF I have seen posting in this forum. And the max PI peak is at 5??? This is what I remember seeing somewhere, a lot better than 16X TY.

Too bad MIJ maxell is not available in the US. I checked the jewel case ones at Walmart and K-Mart, all MIT.

TCAS, I assume what you have are 8X maxell. But the scans of the 16X maxell speaks for itself. You cannot base on your bad experience with the older maxell and project it over to the newer maxell. You have to treat each case separately.

And sorry I dont judge people, but read what you wrote TCAS.

Thats a great scan. I really want to try some of those. The only place I have seen 16x mij so far though was wallgreens in jewel cases. the price was outragious though (15$ for a 10 pack or something like that).
