    Anybody know how to find good Maxells? Or are there any good ones in the US? All the 16x +R I've found have been CMC MAG M01.

    I've noticed a Maxell 100 pack without a little foam spacer that looked to be RICOHJPN R03 by the hub code [you can see a small code starting with D0127..., which is one of a few hub codes that RICOHJPN R03 uses].

    Most packs of Ricoh discs forgo the spacers, not just under the Maxell brand, so you might be able to find them by that. The RICOHJPN R03 will still be made in Taiwan, though. [Warning: you might also get RITEK R05, which is more of less the same thing as RICOHJPN R03. Hub code will be D0125... .]

    I recently picked up a 50 pack of Maxell -R 16x from OD and it was Prodisc F02 but to my surprise my new LG GH20NS10 will burn these @8x with the same quality as TYG02.

    Hey guys, Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't R03 actually Ok media?? For my important things I only use TY but I picked up a 100pk of Memorex R03 a while back & all of it burned well with decent scans. If I had to make a choice on 2nd class media I would definately choose RICOHJPN R03

    I love RICOHJPN R03 for my daily stuff. It's pretty nice.

    Although RITEK R05 should be the same, I can't say that all burners support it equally well as RICOHJPN R03. But then, we could always strategy-swap...

    EDIT: My best CMC MAG M01 recently has come under the Maxell brand. That's not saying much, but they are another alternative for day-to-day burns.

    Glad you found some M01 that have been usable. My experiences with them have been 100% bad. Never even one disc that has been a keeper. If I couldn't get anything else, I'd have to resign from the burning business.

    RICOHJPN R03 under Memorex have been excellent for me as well.

    I will be looking for some Maxell for sure.

    This morning I was lucky to get Ricohjpn R03 media id in the 100 pack of Maxell's from Office Depot. If I had gotten Ritek F1 I would have returned them.
