| Re: holycrap! 300 DVD-R or DVD+R for 19.98 @ Office Max That's cheaper than the cheapest CD-R in South Korea. 30,000 DVD media for US$2K. About 141 terabyte space. 700 * 200GB HDDs for US$50K needed to match that much.

| Re: holycrap! 300 DVD-R or DVD+R for 19.98 @ Office Max I just went to Officemax, and they refused to honor the price. I then called customer service, and they said that a mistake had occurred, and they wouldn't honor the price either. They said that was the price for a 10 pack. Oh, well, I tried. |

| Re: holycrap! 300 DVD-R or DVD+R for 19.98 @ Office Max I still see it listed as $9.99 per 100-pack. Even in your image. It's still that way on-line, aswell. Looks like $20 for 300 medias. Wow! BTW: does OR not have sales tax?

| Re: holycrap! 300 DVD-R or DVD+R for 19.98 @ Office Max I'm actually in WA (8.9% tax) now. No sales tax in OR, but it's always a hot issue. And, you're right!!! Hahah. I didn't even bother scrolling down the page once I saw the ridiculous $59.99 price for 100 pk. Lol. |

| Re: holycrap! 300 DVD-R or DVD+R for 19.98 @ Office Max LMFAO! OfficeMax usually doesn't employ the sharpest tools in the shed, at least from the experiences I have had shopping there. I really laughed when I saw which OfficeMax that you went to, it's right down the street from me. Even at that price I wasn't going to buy them. I'd rather wait for TY to go on sale, like this Sunday supposedly...

| Re: holycrap! 300 DVD-R or DVD+R for 19.98 @ Office Max At 6.7 cents a dvd, it's 1/6th the price of the typical 50pk sale price of $19.99 (40 cents/dvd). I wouldn't have minded so much ... |

| Re: holycrap! 300 DVD-R or DVD+R for 19.98 @ Office Max Even if the quality's not as good as TY, you can burn only 1.5GB data as if burning 2 CD-R's and fill the rest of the disk with duplicate files of that 1.5GB. Triple backup.

| Re: holycrap! 300 DVD-R or DVD+R for 19.98 @ Office Max I got mine. Printed the internet ad and took it to the store. Manager said it was a mistake, but he would honor it. (nice guy) I laughed all the way home. I haven't had so much fun since I cashed in on BB's $3.99 price error on their 25 pack fugifilm. However, the verdict is still out on who got shafted the worst, me or officemax. The first disk burned fine at X8.3 on my nec. 3500 with latest firmware, but disks 2, 3 and 4 wouldn't burn faster than X4.1. I have used about 10 disks and the others seem to be back up to speed. However, I popped one of the disks in a dvd player and had some stuttering on the video. Definite sign of crap media. Plus, I had to pay sales tax. Total invoice $21.60. Gripe, gripe, gripe. |

| Re: holycrap! 300 DVD-R or DVD+R for 19.98 @ Office Max You got shafted. Believe they are crappy media. Maybe you use them for making circles on paper. I wouldn't put video or data or music on them. My time is worth more than wasting it making discsa that won't play or skip and stop every time I am watching a movie. Now you have their problem and you paid for it. Shame on you.

| Re: holycrap! 300 DVD-R or DVD+R for 19.98 @ Office Max Sorry fellas, I don't know how, or if it is possible to post a pif scan off a nec 3500. The media scan would be a duplicate of the one posted by out of exile at the top of the thread. However, the first disks I burned were with dvd decrypter. I have switched to nero and nero seems to like the media. The last 7 disks I have burned with nero have been up to speed, with no flaws in the video. Go figure. Hopefully, just a bump in the media quality. Maybe all those sweaty hands putting them back after seeing the $59.95 price tag. |

| Re: holycrap! 300 DVD-R or DVD+R for 19.98 @ Office Max Actually, the first 100 pack I opened and had the problems with are +r. It is not a big deal because I have had 3-4 disks in the middle of a stack of even ty media that have suddenly dropped in burn speed. I was just taken back and aprehensive when I had just started and a problem came up. |

| Re: holycrap! 300 DVD-R or DVD+R for 19.98 @ Office Max Kenshin, That's exactly what I mean. 8x and perfect playback. I have to admit that I felt a little like a thief in the night, knowing it was an advertising mistake, and didn't want to push my luck. However, the people that I give these disks to, a couple of friends and family, wouldn't think of contributing financially to the project, but they are way up there on their end of the job. (critisizing) They expect nothing less than perfection so we can produce nothing less, can we. easy123, It could very well be the nec. I have pets, and the first time it happened, I said, oh crap, it's found a Beagle hair. I have gone through at least 6 cd burners in the last three years and this dvd burner has burned at least 500 disks, so I figure that it is living on borrowed time. One thing about it though, newegg just keeps them coming. |

| Re: holycrap! 300 DVD-R or DVD+R for 19.98 @ Office Max It's too easy for a DVD burner to produce more than 10,000 DVDs. If one dies before burning 10,000 disks and before the warranty expires, manufacturer's problem. Your NEC to me seems to be in good condition. Outpost is so big and there must be very few people who bought those at that price so I'd personally not feel guilty if it were me. Insisting on something that should cost US$10,000 for US$1,000 due to an employee's typing error isn't same. Anyway, it's Outpost's own choice whether to let it go or not, not yours.
