pls see here - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_v...229523#1271782

- one of the posters there reckons someone from svp has stated these new Verb TY's are from China. I seriously disbelieve this as i'm sure neither company makes anything at all in China. I'd be lying if i said i wasn't concerned about this. Any more info as last night i ordered 100 of these discs ???

Disc is manufactured in Japan and shipped in bulk to China and labelled then packed in smaller spindles/jewel cases. Thus origin may often state China.

@OC-Freak - phew!

@Bjproc - i usually buy approx 100 ie 4 tubs of 25 (or lately i've taken a shine to the tubs 10 of Verb 8x +R for £2.49, that way i don't worry about the shipping charge as it's more than made up for by the cheap price of the tubs. i can't afford to throw money around but at those prices i wait 'til i've got money in a payday and buy enough to absorb the shipping when i can

Would be interested in how things work out. my exerience has always been that not all TY's are created equal. For a long time I used Fuji and was happy - then I bought the real thing and could not believe the difference. Recently tried pastel's and although I found nothing wrong with them they were a disappointment when compared with TY direct from Taiyo Yuden. Perhaps its hardware/software related. I use a Benq1640 and DVDdecrypter to burn in a Nero free zone.

3rd burn on BenQ 1640 BSLB Burned @ 8x WOPC On

with a QS of 99% its great, the PIE increase at the end kind of lets it down but its still great

A perfect curve

and ofcourse a LiteOn scan

That's good news, I ordered a single cake of 25 to test out as I still have ~35 discs left from my Fuji TY +Rs from APR.

Thanks, I just ordered 100 pcs of those Verbatims.

Also ordered 200 Fujifilm Taiyo Yuden, for only £5.89 per spindle . Outrageous price, but unfortunately I don't think the shop ship to rest of Europe(only Denmark)

From SVP? I don't see it on the webpage anymore. Thought they ran out of stock or something.

No, not from SVP.
From a Danish internet company based in UK or Germany.
I ordered the Verbatim 8x dvd-r Taiyo Yuden from SVP. Also a very good price. Especially with various discounts and coupons.

It's a Danish Company with an UK office, but they ship their products from Flensburg, Germany...
You can check it out on www.dvdr.dk .As far as I can see they only ship to Denmark, but you could try asking about other shipping destinations.
