Re: BenQ 1650V/1650S

Just finished ordering the beige. S&H a little high but not outrageous. Total out the door was $24.53.

Now we'll see what happens from here and I'll keep everyone updated.

Re: BenQ 1650V/1650S

Considering how cheap dvd recorders are these days, I don't pay much attention to dvd-rom prices. Is this actually that good of a deal?

What is the condition of the drive??? For that price, I am kinda skeptical. Might be refurbished. And never heard of this eRetailer before

Re: BenQ 1650V/1650S

I think OneSickPup is the only one so far who caught that this is for a DVD-ROM, not a DVDR. Who really wants a DVD-ROM (read only drive) in this day and age?

Re: BenQ 1650V/1650S

umm yeah guys...this is the 1650V not the DW 1650.

this is a read only ROM drive, not a burner.

it's about going price for a ROM...I don't think you'll get much cheaper than that, then again the DW 1650 has been seen on sale at sites like newegg for about $35 -$40 or so shipped so if you ask my opinion, unless you have a specific reason for going with the DVD-ROM then I'd recommend spending the extra few bucks for burning functionality as well..

Re: BenQ 1650V/1650S

good marketing strategy, hahaha, I did not even noticed it is a reader only. At least a few folks got sucked in. Such low price is a red flag.
