i wanted warn you guys of nexthardwareshop.com.
they have some great deals but are they worth it?
i just bought a new lite-on 40x cdrw and it was a defect.
so i returned the drive to the retailer and called to check
if they had sent the replacement.
sales rep named "Ed" told me that it will take up to *30*
days to get me a replacement.
Ed told me it was their policy. 30 days for a replacement.
Ed also told me that if drive seems ok after their own testing,
they will just send back the drive to me.

i asked Ed "what if the drive doesn't work with my system?"
he replied "then get a refund."
i asked Ed "don't you guys have a policy saying that you don't
give refunds after 15 days?"
he replied "yes. you can't get refund after 15 days from the purchase."
i asked Ed "didn't you jut tell me that it will take up to 30 days to
test the drive? how will i get a refund if you're gonna hold on
to the drive for 30 days?"
he replied "um....yeah...um"
so i said "forget about getting me a replacement, just get me a refund."
he told me to call back tomorrow cause their credit dept. is closed.
closed at 1 p.m.????
i told him "it's only 1. why do mean your credit dept is closed?
what time do they open and close?
Ed said "they open at 9 am and close at 10 am"
i said "why do i have to call back? can you have your credit dept
call me back tomorrow?"
he said "no."
i asked "can't you leave a message on the desk or something?"
that's when he raised his voice over me and started talking bad.
he said "why can't you wait? do you think you're a special customer? you think i have nothing else to do?"
?????
i even spoke with his manager but he couldn't care less.
i'm getting a refund and they're gonna charge be 20% restocking
feel.

i'm never gonna order from them again and neither should you.
i lost about 18 dollars.
for 18 dollars more i could've gotten the drive from a reliable dealer.
shame on me for trying to save money. kekeke
from now on, i'm only shopping with vendors that i can trust
even if it means paying 5-10% more.

I and about 4 other people that I knowhave bought from www.nexthardwareshop.com and everything we have bought works just fine.

We charge 20% restocking fee for all return items except for defective
products (exchange). If you still want to exchange it we would be happy
to do it for you.

i and my friend haven't had probs with them, i got a yamaha that was defect but whe i saw 20% restocking fee i said screw that. I was about to ship it to yamaha when i was informed about yamaha not liking taiyo yudens. Now i don't know what to do.

I also purchased a CD-RW drive from next hardwars shop in July of 2002. When it arrived, I installed it and the drive drawer wouldn't even open. I tried the manual open and it was jammed so tight, it broke the second tool I used. When I called them, they said to send it back and they would get me a replacement. I mailed it back to them (at my cost, of course), and they called a few days later, asking why they had it back. I explained again what the problem was. The man I talked to had an accent so thik, I could barely understand him, bu tI thought the message got through. A week later, I recived an e-mail from them, stating once again that they had no idea why I sent it back, and to contact them immediately. I e-mailed them, then called them again, and explained the problem, this time stating that I wanted my money back. Well, it's been over a year and a half, and I still haven't seen a penny of my money, and I had to buy a drive from someone else. DO NOT BUY FROM NEXTHARDWARESHOP!!!!!!!

@bloodthorne.....Damn dude! Did you even get your drive back?? So you are out the money AND you have nothing to show for it?!?! I definitely wont be buying from them.

And if I was you, I would have been all over their @$$es! Somehow, someway, they would have refunded my money or sent me another drive.

Contact the BBB in their area (if they are in the US, I didnt check) and report them.
