| Well, the egg giveth and the egg taketh away.. now back to $70 with $20 rebate again. The $59 drive sold out quick.. apparently consumers thought that was a great deal not to have to hassle with rebates. I"m not diappointed I bought my 10x for $80 last November.. it serves my needs well... however this proves my point.. the price for comparable 12x drives should be $40 - $65, not $70 - $150 without any special sale. |

| Many of the drives are now back around $80-$100.. expect the prices to drop officially when HP, Dell & Lenovo release 2012 desktop lineups that have blue ray recorders standard... February, March? I'd guess $40-$65 range to be the new benchmark. I doubt any blu ray drive maker is re-inventing the wheel here.. so prices should drop. |
