Thanks, probably a crap mid but for that price I'd bet one of my many burners would work well enough with them.
It would be nice to burn my larger HDTV caps to one disk again rather then 2.

Must be a in store only deal as the Fry's website still has them listed as $44.99
I would of bit the bullet and bought some and took a chance on them at that
price if it were a online price too.

The quality scan speed on a Nexperia BenQ should be 8x.

Also, try another burn with the 7240 at 4x or 6x.

Will do - burn at 4x and scan at 8x.

Ouch! Well, I guess this means that RITEK S04 and RICOHJPN D01 are still better choices for 8x non-Verbatim DL media.

BTW, your DW1620 firmware is a bit old. Upgrading should fix that spindown problem while scanning:

Just bought a stack today, it seems to burn pretty good on my Emprex (rebrand Sony Optiarc SATA burner).

If you plan to scan with your Optiarc, then use 5x as the scan speed.

Much better. That scan is pretty good for a non-Verbatim DL.

Yeah, the scan looks similar to what I get with Optiarc 7240S for the widely available Memorex 8X DL, or Ritek S04-66
