Hello. I have a video dvd with my brother's wedding recorded on it and I wanted to make a copy to give to relatives. The disc with the video on it is a DVD-R with 4.7GB capacity. There is also no encryption on it. I opened Nero (version 6.6.0.12), selected DVD copy under the new compilation box and then proceeded to create the image file on my desktop (.nrg file). After this was completed (Nero would tell me image creation was successful) it would prompt me to insert a blank dvd-r/rw into the dvd drive. Because I only have blank dvd+r's however, I inserted this disc, however Nero will not accept them, identifying them correctly as dvd+r and insisting i insert a dvd-r/rw.

Why is this so? How do I get around this problem without buying dvd-r's? Why should it matter if I use a dvd+r or dvd-r blank disc, even if the source disc is dvd-r? I have burned iso images using nero and these same blank dvd+r's so I know the discs should work. Can someone please explain?????

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

THANKS!
