Nero Express - fails to burn CD every time

Hi,

Each time I try to burn a music CD it fails. This time I tried to write at 24x (slower) speed but that didn't work either. I was burning mp3 file as CD, the program is supposed to convert it. Any ideas? All data discs burn fine.

DMA is off on your maddog burner and that might be the issue , enable it ,check out this guide if you dont know how

Also you may want to use better qulaity CD media that give you better resultsl.

Thank you. I updated firmware, had some problems enabling DMA but finally got it to work. Burned the CD fine. Thanks again!

Could you explain how did you resolve the problem? that some member might benefited from your experience.

OK, sure. First I updated the firmware on my burner, I did that from Maddog site. Next, I tried to enable DMA but that didn't work, it was still showing as PIO only. I tried a few things described here http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=101616. That didn't resolve the problem. Then I disconnected my master drive (my burner is set as slave) and DMA became available. Later I reconnected the master driver back, DMA is still available and set. That's pretty much it
