Hey gang. I just installed a new NEC ND-2510A drive, and now everytime I launch Nero InfoTool it crashes my PC into a restart. Any idea what might be causing this? All I did was replace a drive. Nero InfoTool can't be uninstalled or anything, it's just an *.exe file. Does this not work with NEC drives?

But I recall having kinda similar issue w NIT when 1 of my drives was sitting on Promise IDE controller, of which the author of NIT was informed. So what's your configuration ? |
I fire info tool from day one and get BSOD and have to hit restart to get it to work, dont know what's with this app
@BoSkin - that was it. I had my older LDW-451S on a promise ide controller card. When removed, nero infotool worked again. Stupid software. Why wouldn't it work with an optical drive on the controller card? Works fine with HDD's on the card....oh well.

Because I wanted to copy a 733Mb file to CD, I tried CD-DVD Speed with a TDK CD media. It defaulted for testing 90 minutes, and then when finished implied 90 minutes was too short. I tried entering 100 min, 99 min, 95 min ... but all these values were rejected (... some type of illegal parameter message). So ... I decided 90 minutes was fine, relative to 733Mb being an equivelent 83 minutes ... and enabled overburn. However, the burned failed with a returned error message which implied (paraphrasing) the write could not be finalized (... which I might assume may have to do with writing some type of header on the CD(?) ...). Please advise .. tia
