Hi,

I'm a newbie to DVD burning. About to buy the NEC 3500, and saw that Buy.com has the Nero 6 Ultra version on a pretty good sale with rebates - $29.99!

Have heard good reports about Nero, but mixed reports about the Ultra version - any verdict on this forum as to whether it's worth it or not?

cheers,

David

PS Buy.com's sale ends today I believe, so a swift response would be appreciated!!

I use and love Nero 6, I have never had a problem with it and I can't imagine doing my burning without it...

here's a thought before you buy (Ultra Edition - cant live without either!):

you could download the latest version (demo), find a key and test it.
then go out and buy it, its worth it.

Why buy Nero when many dealer bundle it with a new burner?
Buy the burner where u get Nero "free" on top!

From the posts i have seen, most people are buying this drive as OEM though - well i did! But thats only because Retail is currently unavailable in the UK - the drive is too new!

All in all:
Buy Retail and you get the software.

I am talking about OEM - I got my burner (OEM) Liteon 1213s and Nero on top. It's all about talking to the dealer

Differs in different regions I guess, but yes Nero is worth it. Excellent software.

Sure it differs but it's always worth to try - most dealers are desperate to sell. By my experience, when the shopping bill exceeds $100 (Australia) you will have no problem getting a bonus on top. Just try it...

When you buy the full Nero you get more components than the ones included in much bundles and you aplication will work with all makes of drives, instead of a copy that only works with the drive it came with.

So, depending if you are interested in the extra parts or using Nero with different drives it can be of no interest to you or it can justify the price of the key.

Yo-

At $30 for the ULTRA edition - it's a STEAL!!

Jump on it - you will not be sorry!!

Ahead has worked out 99% of the kinks that originally plagued Nero 6 and the upgrading and features cannot be beat for only $30!!

Happy Burnin'

Yes, right here.

1) Rip w/ DVD Decrypter using File Mode.
2) Compress w/ DVD Shrink using Re-Author. Drag main movie to the left window.
3) Nero > DVD-Video > Drag compressed contents from DVD Shrink to Video_TS folder > Burn. Done
