I‘ve registered to this forum, because I was forced to do a lot of web search lately, trying to find a solution to my seemingly simple problem…this seems to be a right place to ask. I use Nero 5.5.10.56 under WinXP with NEC NR-9100A drive. So here is the problem: I need to burn a 720 Mb file, so I got myself a 800 Mb CDR. As I understand, this is not considered „overburn“, right? Nevertheless, I turned „overburn“ function on in Expert Features and selected maximum 99 min – that should be more than enough. Also I checked whenever my drive supports overburn and it does. After reading the manual, I also turned off the feature „Check for correct disc format“ and chose „Disc At Once“ mode. The first strange thing – after checking the Media Info I learned that Nero still considers an empty CDR as 700 Mb capacity. I decided to burn it anyway. So I was prompted that overburn fuction will be used and burning process started. I went well untill 99% was finished and then an error message INVALID BLOCK ADDRESS was displayed and burning process failed. I checked the disk – the file was actually burned, but not readable. So I got myself a new CDR – this time 860 Mb capacity. Nero still shows there is only 700 Mb available on the media. I repeated the procedure, but this time chose Simulation mode instead of burning immediately. The same error message popped up at the end of simulation. I tried various combinations of settings, changed maximum capacities and so on, but without success. Anyone have any idea about the reasons of such error? Many thanks in advance - it was bothering me for about a week.

Hi there, I had an error with Nero reporting an "illegal block size for command" error when burning CDRs. I solved it by reinstalling Windows and setting my LG 4120b to Secondary slave. Either way, isn't it odd how nowhere on the net can you find a list explaining the various Nero errors? Kinda lame from Ahead IMO.
Reinstalling Windows and all the programms is so much mess... damn, I still believe it‘s just some stupid setting within Nero (just like this – „Check for correct disc format“ – no chance to find it without reading the tutorial). Probably upgrading Nero would be an easier way. By the way, I have saved log reports. I just can‘t read them
