every time i burn it always fails to finalize

Everytime i try to burn a data dvd to back upsome avi files it always fails in the finalize stage and i get a write error and this happens with nero and another program, but heres the thing, when i pop the dvd in my dvd player to my tv, it recognizes the avi files and can see them and i can play them if i want, but if i pop the dvd back into my computer, it doesnt show any files at all on the cd if i go explore through my computer, so they are there because my dad player can see them but my computer cant. its always a write error at the end of the burn process and i believe this same error happened in imgburn too. heres the log file from nero

Re: every time i burn it always fails to finalize

It looks like you've got a mismatch between your burner and these particular dvds. Is this TS-L532B drive in a Dell laptop?

I tried to find a firmware update for your drive (assuming it is in a Dell) but it looks like you've got the last one available, and it dates from 2006.

I suggest using different blank dvds. Verbatim 16x disks (with AZO on the label), or Taiyo Yuden 8x or 16x disks are our standard recommendations for better media. I don't know where you are located, but in the US, you can find either type at online shops like Rima.com or supermediastore.com. In a laptop drive, try burning them at 6x, instead of max speed.

Re: every time i burn it always fails to finalize

I dont uderstand how my dvd player sees the avi files i burned to the disk so obviously they are there, but if i stick it in my dvd drive theres nothing there through explorer. but your saying if i tried to burn some blank dvd's from a dofferent company (im using memorex dvd +r ) that they would finalize fine?

Re: every time i burn it always fails to finalize

what im trying to do is make data dvds so i can later view my avi files on my data dvd, but only my dvd player can see the files, and my computer acts as if there isnt even a dvd or cd in the drive, and the error i get is always at the end of the disc when its finalizing

Re: every time i burn it always fails to finalize

TY or Verbatim will probably be a better match than those RitekF16 disks you are using.

You might also try slowing down the burn speed using the Ritek disks, or try using a different burning program. I quit using Nero years ago and now burn with a free program called ImgBurn. www.imgburn.com

Don't really know why your player can see them though. Kind of odd situation.

Hi there.

I used to use Nero 7.5 without any problems, then i got Nero 10 Multimedia, and i have had lots of "BOGUS" errors and warnings, so i switched back to Nero 7.5 and burned the same CD's & DVD's without any problems, it seems that Nero 10 has some bugs.
