Hi and welcome to the forum

I don't know if in nero 7 is different, but in nero 6 you can select ISO or NRG from the "save as" window

Thanks for the welcome

In 7 the iso option is missing. Very strange!

Sorry, I don't have nero 7

I don't know if this can be useful, but check in preferences if you have this option. Maybe can solve

Re: Create ISO image in Nero 7 Premium

Sorry, that didn't help.
But I have found a solution!
In menu select Extras->Save Tracks, and you will have the possibility to save in .iso format. Not what I call a "copy" but it did the job for me; to backup my Photoshop CD.

Thanks for your attention geno888!

ISO-burner is a good tool to try. Firstly, it is free. It never failed me before and is really easy to use. I suppose you might wish to try it

Re: Create ISO image in Nero 7 Premium

Hi I had the same problem, the ISO option is switched off by default to switch it on follow these steps
File > Options > Expert Features menu, Enable all supported recorder formats for image recorder check box. The drop-down menu in the Compilation window then makes available all supported disc types.

This Enables ISO feature in the Extras menu, Save tracks, section.

Re: Create ISO image in Nero 7 Premium

after reading all the posts i couldnt find a resolution. Partly, because in "extra's" i didnt have a "save tracks" option. Anyways, i played around with it a little and figured it out. Open burning ROM, click on "DVD ROM (Boot)" (on the right the "image file" should be selected - not bootable logical drive) then click "new". Drag your files into appropriate area. Click "burn" on top, then "burn" again and it should ask you to either save in "nrb" or "iso"

Re: Create ISO image in Nero 7 Premium

This is utter BS. Considering what Nero costs you'd think they would offer a feature that other programs do for free.

I'm almost to the point of abandoning any future upgrades to Nero and going just with ImgBurn and Vista's built-in disk burning features and using the rest of Nero for as long as it's supported.

so what wrong with mine??

Re: Create ISO image in Nero 7 Premium

has any one tried burning the project to the virtual disk drive in nero. when you do this it defaults to *.nrg but *.iso is an option from the drop down box.

basically
1) start your project in nero - add you files
2) make sure you are using the virtual burner drive
3) burn the project - it will ask you to
4) choose the file format, - nrg or iso
5) name the project

you now have an iso file

also in the past i have used the nrg and iso files interchangeably. renaming one format to another with any issues when burning.

while making a "DVD Copy" you can select to save image and then change it to .iso and later when you're done copying the CD/DVD in your system as .iso image, just move it to some other location and cancel burning the Image...

I suspect there was a "problem with install" such as the Serial Number installed wasn't in fact the one that Premium needed to unlock all of the options. That was sometimes common in the PSP download world - someone would post a Premium copy with a non-Premium Serial Number that only unlocked the OEM services. I wonder if that was the case?

I thought this would have been an interesting tactic for software vendors to do - instead of fighting the PSP servers themselves, inundate them with staffers who'd feed bad copies of X Brand and have all the downloaders waste hours trying to solve Install problems so the "downloadable files" achieved a "worthless to install" reputation.

Sort of like flooding a market with counterfeit money - eventually, no one would accept anything but gold. Or sand. Or iron pyrite. And even then, there's a chance someone's gonna go looney...

Nero aka Ahead wanted to be king in the burner softwares world and therefore they sold their souls....kinda.

"OEM serials" became the hit of the day.
