Burn error with Nero OEM 6.6.1.15

I've been trying to burn data (JPEG images) onto TDK CD-R80s using Nero, but each time it gets part-way through and gives an error. Previous postings suggest an anti-virus shield could cause problems, but even with my AVG Free 7.5 Resident Shield switched off, it still happens. I've been able to burn the same data onto a different CD RW medium which I assume means the hardware and software isn't inherently problematic. Is it simply likely to be that the TDK CDs are not reliable? (It happened with 4 brand new CDs in a row.) I couldn't find a listing in the Nero help documentation as to particular media brands supported. Thanks for any help -- the full log (showing hardware model, etc.) is below.

Then this is a media issue. Your drive can't handle these discs properly. Check if there is a firmware update for your drive available. You might also try other speeds.

TDK is just slapping their logo onto discs they buy from other manufacturers. According to your log, these discs were made by CMC Magnetics. Not excellent, but they should normally work.

I agree I would not put %100 fait on integrity of TDK disc.

Re: Burn error with Nero OEM 6.6.1.15

I know this is an old post, but this will still help anyone with this problem -its an scsi error and can be fixed by installing the latest jmb 36x driver (or any that will allow you to select the ide option) and select ide instead of scsi at installation -your dvd burner will then be recognized as a normal ide device instead of scsi -of course remember to uninstall old driver first -you might have trouble with windows trying to re-install old driver upon restart over and over -keep cancelling till you get the error in toolbar message, or deleting some of system32 files will bring the toolbar error -then you can install the new one
