| audio CD won't play My NAD cd player can only play a limited number of formats but has never had any problems playing discs burned with my nero6 + Liteon SHW-16H5S combo. I've just upgraded to nero7 + LIteon LH-20A1H and now it won't recognise audio discs burned with this new combo. I'm burning flac files -> Nero StartSmart>Make Audio CD with default settings the CD's are playable on my DVD player and have a .cda extension on my PC. What's gone wrong? Thanks

| Re: audio CD won't play What speed are you burning at? I'd recommend 16x for audio. To make sure it's not a Nero thing, try using Burrrn (a small piece of freeware) to burn your FLAC files to an audio CD, and see how you go. ![]() Now, Nero 7 - there was a problem burning audio CDs from music files with Nero 7, which I'm not sure has been rectified in later versions, that could very well be the problem.

| Re: audio CD won't play Burrrn won't see my drive. I've flashed to latest f/w (LL0A) but it still can't see it. Here's the error log if I click "disc info".... | Re: audio CD won't play Hmmm, that's odd, I have the same drive and it sees mine OK. Could be something to do with the way the drive is connected. Anyway, back to Nero. What speed are you burning at? Edit: one last thing about Burrrn - have you gone into the Settings, and under the General tab, is your LiteOn listed in the drop-down box? IIRC, you have to choose your burner when you first use it.

| Re: audio CD won't play In Nero I've just been using the default setting. I just ran a simulation and it burned at 48x. With Burrrn there's no drive to select in the drop down. There was when I first installed Burrrn though. I'll try a reinstall.

| Re: audio CD won't play Yep, try reinstalling Burrrn, and on first use it'll prompt you to pick your writer. As for Nero - try burning the audio at 16x, always works for me.

| Re: audio CD won't play Panic over! I was trying to burn a corrupt/poorly ripped CD. Strange how it plays in some players though, albeit too loud and clipped. Some folk just don't care what they up.. Success with both Nero and Burrrn. As for Burrrn nice app. Reinstall brought back drop down. Thanks Arachne
