Problem with Liteon 40125W , Burnproof is always on :-(

Hello everybody,

I have a problem with my Liteon 40125W (WS05).
Whenever it burns , burnproof is always activated (the led kept blinking from red color to orange color). I have got this problem with clone cd v4.X/v3.X , cdrwin and other ones.
I have not disabled smartburn.
I have checked in the settings that DMA is well activated .
I have also verified that no other software were running in the background.

So , I have really no clue why burnproof is always on when burning.

Any help will be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Nic

Also, check DMA for your harddrive.

This could be as simple as crappy media. Are your buffers indicating full or empty? Smartburn will engage if you are burning your media too fast.

Problem solved !

Thank you all for your advices , in fact the problem was not so difficult to solve.

This morning I had to reset the bios of my motherboard and therefore evertything was on default mode . My Liteon which is set on "secondary master" was not showing up at startup , so I had to enable it in the bios settings (I set "Auto" for the "IDE Secondary Master") and now the Liteon appears well at startup and I have no more this burnproof problem

Hmm...doesn't the orange LED mean that SmartBurn is adjusting write speed for media compatibility and yellow mean that a buffer underrun has occured?

No, there are only red -orange -green lights. Orange (yellow) means the drive is paused - for whatever reason.
