Any changes made by OP are applied to the firmware file when you use save as. The saved file then needs to be run, to flash the changes to the drive .

Thanks. The "apply recommended media tweaks" got me confused thiinking it may do it when I click that button.

I'll set these Mirrors to 1 and 2X so I don't need to throw them in the bin!

I have applied tri-colour led patch but still don't see the third colour
It should be green for reading, red for burning and orange for burn-proofing, right? My drive is sony dw-d22a but I guess it doesn't matter coz they're all the same.

Will you consider incorporating sony dw-d22a ID in the list of drives in Omnipatcher? There are ppl with these drives too.

Yea, sorry about that... it's a wording error on my part that will be fixed in the next maintenance release.

That was released yesterday (I just forgot to update the thread title). The maintenance release to fix the wording problem in the UI and manual will be 2.2.1 or something like that. Actually, 2.2.0 was where this mistake was first introduced.

No. Write strategies are handled at a very high level in OP. OP works with the indices of table entries and inserts a function into the firmware that can change indices around. So it does strat changes by having the media code at position #42 use the strategy of the media code at position #24 instead of its own strategy at position #42, for example. OP never touches or looks inside the strategy tables, which would be exceedingly difficult because the tables are fragmented into countless pieces and scattered over countless places, so a low-level implemention that actually works with the table data is all but impossible.

the ledfix is only for 1213-1653s drives. (167/93s has a green led only)

DVD-DL is pressed DL media, usually DVD movies. The DVD+-R9 is the media you can burn once
Aaah... got it...
And what about separating reading speed settings for +RW and -RW? -RW quality is often much worse... is it possible?

@choko

Gee. This sucks. Is there any chance to implement it or is the problem hardware-based?

Edit: moved the disc scan to the scan thread

The 7/93S physically lack the necessary hardware for multi-color.

@code65536
is it possible to select different speeds for +r and - media? (16x -r, 12+r...)

-r media can be read @16x with CS0P but +r media is only good up to 12-14x.

i find most media to be good enough to go 16x - maybe ur +R quality is poor!

besides - much thanks to codguys!!! never thought I'd see the day OP2 gets out, but now I have, and u currently own a bit of my desktop! (if it makes u feel any more special )

Yet again (i understand i'm a small, insignificant creature...): is it possible to separate read speed settings for +RW and -RW?

It can be done. I'll consider it, but to be honest, I'm not sure that I want to change it. For the hiccup at the end of reading +R discs, it's not that big of a problem, and setting it to 12x (14x doesn't work) will probably be slower than 16x with a hiccup. As for RW, just use the lower of the RW speeds. Most users don't use much RW, and if they do, they usually use only one type. So I don't think that it'll be worth the effort.

Well, that really is not a problem.

...but there's a lot of those damned users! And -RW are not that rare to see...

i still touch 16x at the end of the read with the glitch as opposed to Chok0's "-r media can be read @16x with CS0P but +r media is only good up to 12-14x.

I don't use -RW btw - too unreliable !

True, but people DO use it, and sometimes you can't help but read those people's DVD-RW's...
