Did I miss something? What is the story about IEEE_M32.dll missing in my computer?

EDIT: Forget it I got this IEEE from an older version. It works

Agreed
- appears IEEE_32M.DLL is not included in DVDScan004.rar
- should be present in same directory as DVDScan application
- can be found in previous 0.01b and 0.02b distros

[ IEEE_32M.DLL ] v6.01.0.0; 67KB (68,608 bytes) - Capital Equipment Corp. CEC488

Comparison of Jitter scan using DVDScan0.02 Beta and DVDScan0.04 Beta. As expected, no significant difference.

Hi Tom and welcome. Sorry for the delay posting but I'm still catching up after a short vacation. Thanks for all of your efforts and the new version. The new drive list and showing the MID is very good. Also the ESC key fix is much appreciated.

Would it be possible to make DVDScan start as a window just big enough to display the contents, instead of maximized? It would make life much easier when it comes to capturing the scan.

The DVDScan window is also slightly too tall for a standard 1024x768 display using the default Windows XP theme with a non-auto-hiding taskbar, so it uses scrollbars. It can be manually re-sized to extend below the windows taskbar so that the scrollbars disappear, but next time the tool is started it's still too tall.

If the taskbar is set to auto-hiding, then the DVDScan windows doesn't need scrollbars.

It's possible that the window is just the right size for a Windows Classic (Windows 2000) theme, but I haven't actually tried that.

Thanks for posting the link to DVDScan v0.04 beta bichi. Here's one on CDF as a SFX with the IEEE_M32.dll file added as well. Seems the previous two versions were SFX with both files.

Yes it fits perfectly in Windows Classic mode. Gosh 1024x768 looks huge on a 23" monitor.

I get an access violation when a virtual drive is enabled. It also causes the extra tabs to be present.

When comparing the PI/PIF results with KProbe or CD-DVD Speed, the Avg. PIF result
seems to be much to low.

I have a question about jitter measurement with LiteOn drives.
In some cases my 1635S report a much higher jitter than BenQ (1650) and Plextor (716A).
For example, I have burned a Verbatim MCC02RG20 at 8x with my Plextor. First picture is the jitter scan of that disc with the LiteOn, second picture is with BenQ, third with Plextools (QA test report "Excellent" for jitter and peak shift at the inner, middle and outer part of the disc).
Why jitter with LiteOn, that is a very good reader, is so high?
With LiteOn pits and lands are fat while with Plextor are thin. Too difference.
However Liteon report a high jitter with all the discs written by the Plextor. Maybe it doesn't like Plextor burns?

Did you get high values of jitter in scans of all discs yield by the Lite-On? If yes, then your unit may be somewhat faulty.

I don't think my drive is faulty.
For example, first image is a MCC004 burned at 8x with my BenQ 1650, second image is a different batch of the same media (made in Taiwan) burned at 8x with the 1635S. In both cases jitter is good (with BenQ very good).

Since the drive has been shown to be not faulty, it is possible that the differences may be caused by differences in the asymmetry of the signals. Would you do some beta tests to see if so? Of course there may be other reasons, but professional testing devices are needed.

Another thing, what is the location of the histogram shown in the Plextor scan?

Ok, I'll try a beta test with LiteOn and with Plextor. Later I'll post them.
The histogram is relative to the inner part of the disc but the others two are very similar.

One more thing, to be fair in comparing beta/jitter scans obtained with Plextor and Lite-On drives, set the speed in DVDScan to 2X, for it is the only speed allowed by PlexTools for such tests.

Thanks for your interest.
Here the Beta scan of that Verbatim MCC02RG20. In your opinion, is justified a so high jitter from LiteOn (post #268)?
If I'm not wrong jitter measurement is before drive correction (PIE/PIF), true?

I've just tried to measure the jitter with my Philips SPD2400L1@Lite-On SHW-1635S YSOZ (official) on DVDScan v0.04 Beta but it couldn't. Are only the test firmwares (like YV6N/P) supported by DVDScan v0.04 Beta??
