| Re: The New LiteOn/PLDS Patched Firmware Thread *NEW* I just ordered an IHAP422 drive (gonna be replacing my 20A1P) and will be using it mainly as a reader/scanner. Since I won't be doing much burning should I even consider using one of these patched firmwares? I'll be doing some quality scanning and it will be my main drive for ripping, especially with trouble discs (I'm trying to recovery some Ritek G05's). Thanx

| Re: The New LiteOn/PLDS Patched Firmware Thread *NEW* Hi zeeter. About the only benefit to you, would be faster reading of +-R SL media (18x). Good for TRT tests and copying from a backup.

| Re: The New LiteOn/PLDS Patched Firmware Thread *NEW* It's not a bad drive. The chipset/firmware used in this drive, does not do well reading DL at 16x. It's an excellent 12x DL reader, however.

| Re: The New LiteOn/PLDS Patched Firmware Thread *NEW* Hi negritude. The SCR number is like a version, which mean that v2 should be better than 1. EOHT is an enhanced version of OHT, whereas SCR is a new recalibrate at the strategy change point, which occurs at every 2x speed change (6x, 8x, 10x, 12x...). In the current releases, SCR also works when OHT is disabled, but this may be different in the up coming iHAS120/220 SCR firmware.

| Re: The New LiteOn/PLDS Patched Firmware Thread *NEW* It should be soon. I've been trying to improve the SCR recalibrate, before the public release.

BTW, SCR2 on my DH20A3S makes these CMC MAG M03 work a tad better. I've gotten my best burn on them with it. I should post that--in the right thread, shouldn't I..... | |
