I suspect not. There are many users who are successfully using Liteon burners with Nero and many who aren't.

One common thread seems to be the issue with the older VIA chipsets and Nero with -r disc's. A quick search with yield these issues or just try "Nero" if you're feeling brave

What are you Nero woes?

I've been a Nero user for many years but there are lots of other burning programs that work equally well if not better with Liteon drives.

I have a 401@411@811, and have never had problems with any of them. Currently using Nero 6.3.0.2 without a hitch.

The LiteOn LDW-401S is indeed listed as supported on the www.aheadsoft.com website. The other drives are almost identical, Ahead is just slow is adding them to the list.

The problem turned out to be media..
Nero 6 seems to work fine with my 451s with decent media..

I also use Nero 6.3.0.2 and it works fine with my 411S. I don't think it's the software so much as the combination of the firmware you're using and the media you've purchased. I'm running FS0H firmware and I've only used Memorex 4X DVD+R and have never made a coaster. I've made coasters out of DVD-R but that's more the firmware's problem than Nero's.
