Gosh, this is the latest internal version of LiteOn's LtnFlash. This tool was never intended to be made public. It supports all LiteOn models to date but does required some model dependent options to be set manually for certain operations, so it should be used with caution.

Quite a find pinto2. I didn't think we would ever see another version of LtnFlash, after all these years.

2) E2 (0x2000)
- dumped EEPROM, still need to compare with previous extracted saves before write attempt

3) RPC
4) BitSet
5) ATA - (not yet)
6) ATAPI - (not yet)

TESTED:
( with LH-18A1P and LH-20A1H )

1) Flash Backup
- dumped FW, compared with extracted save, Flash Utility v2.0, without differences
- FW flashed both drives without any issues, GL0F and LL07, respectivly

2) E2 (0x2000)
- dumped EEPROM, did not compare with saved version, but suspect differences may be in "learned" space.
- will have to reset "learned" in both drives, (EEPROM Utility v3.6.2) repeat saves and re-compare

LtnFlash sounded like an old dinosaur to me...
Nice to see another release of this sweet tool to play with
Let's see if it still supports my old LiteOn LTR-16101B (Sanyo chipset)

Looks like all available Lite-On tools in our forum emanate out of LtnFlash.

Did you expect a difference?
BTW, senior members might still remember how LtnFW was "born" out of LtnFlash v.1.

Only first 1024 bytes (0x400) of eeprom are of major interest for us.

You'll have to try out.
IIRC, when it comes to flashing old cdrw drives with Sanyo chip pflash is the tool.

1) exactly the reason for performing a test.
2) ditto again, a FULL test was required, to discover any anomolies.

ummm, not to be hyper-critical, but I would imagine it would be much more useful if you did some tests as well, to help verify / crosscheck other's results.

Except for the good work by bichi there seems to be a strange silence about this tool here. I wonder why?

What are you expecting? This tool does little more than what is already done by other tools and in some cases without any complicated options to set.

I was quite surprised to see that LITE-ON LTR-16101B is still supported.
Even the Flash ID and the chip were detected correctly, and I was able to backup 2 MB (although the firmware flash binaries were somewhere around 384 KB )

Quite a lot of nice stuff to play with but I simply don't know what most of the settings mean

It seems those who know say this tool may be the progenitor of other tools we already have. I guess the tool is redundant and of little use to commoner or king.
