Burnt at 2x in IMGBurn. That was only speed supported. These discs give me a lot of problems to burn.

This Verbatim 8x is a very good media.
I will test other MIDs later and post some results.

I wonder if this drive can do reliable BD scans.

Has anyone had any experience burning these "Optical Quantum" 6x LTH discs on the iHBS112-04? I'm running the PL05 firmware...

Not me, but having a combination of 'Optical Quantum', '6x' and 'LTH' in the same sentence sounds to me like a recipe for trouble (or rather 3x the trouble to be precise) ...

I would avoid them, and avoid LTH media in general.

So I take it that Liteys don't like LTH?

Or is LTH just bad in general with all burners?

(Sorry for the newbie questions; I haven't been in the optical disc world since the PATA days of flashing 12x Litey DVD burners to 16x.)

LTH wouldn't be the best choice.

Those Optical Quantum 6x 25GB are not LTH BD-Rs. The LT in the model # stands for Logo Top. Those have been CMCMAGBA5 HTL discs. You can't ever be sure what you will receive in an Optical Quantum spindle. They don't make optical media. And cheap Optical Quantums means B or C grade media.

If they are CMCs, they can burn quite well in some burners. As they are cheap Optical Quantums, they will not be high grade CMCs. Unfortunately, in my experience the Lite-ons burn BA5 with higher error rate scans than my other burners. They may be usable for you, but not exactly recommendable.

Thanks

Nice burn. How is the pricing of those Kokolo compared to other BD-R over there? I was quoted a price of about $ .55/ea. shipped(unfortunately only in quantities of 6,000. Not quite that curious to get my hands on them ). Looks pretty good for a $.55 BD-R. Do you happen to know if MKM is the Japanese company that is responsible for Infomedia's BD-R designs?

Thanks. $31.50USD for 50 BD-R that burn like that. Nice. I hope we see these 6x Infomedia in the U.S. soon.

Thanks Dean,

I have to say I've been reading and seeing quality scans for the pasts months (year and a half?) and you where everywhere, so the major fault from my high jump from DVD-R to BD-R is yours.

After reading and seeing so match, I was goingo to go with the so called Falcons (smartBlu) but there was the problem coudn't achive sending it here. As you probably now BD blank media is very expensive here in Europe so I was just about to give up and go on with DVD-R ().

I don't remember where catch my eyes some Panasonic scans MID MEIRA1 and i knew one store i could find them. They only have the 10 spindle printable hub for 16€ and considering the options I have goint to stick with it.

So this was a big step for me. Now i can backup my year and half data i didn't burn with DVD's for I was getting tired burning 4.38gb each time.
I think I have to save 2TB

And that was my entry sirs. 2:13 am. One more hour and sleeping.
