I waded through a lot of pages so forgive me if I missed it, but has anyone using DH20A3P - XV66 HT714 H12X firmware burnt a verbatim MIS 2.4x @6x using this firmware.

It wrote fine but failed to verify in the 20a3p and an opt 7173 at roughly same spot, pointless trying to verify it in the rest of my drives.

Verb DL MIS sometimes has problems but this drive is not great with DL, my burns have been not so good with MIT Verb DL, I use my Pio 112D only for DL burning as it does a much better job.

Yeah I use my 112 for mis dl but recently bought 70 of them and they are terrible on the pio 112 and no better on my lg brw had to test them on various writers b4 returning them.

no my drive (20A3S) seems very consistent
it's only loud on very high speeds like 18 & 20x
other that this it's normal

Just a fast question to you guys who have been in the forum for awhile...I just bought 2 AD-7191S (Sony NEC) drives and patched the firmware with Wind's latest (9V66HT716WIN.rar) today. I have a new XFX 860i LT system w/quad processor, vista ultimate, 4GB ram, etc.

I used Wind's firmware update on the new virgin drive (out of the box). The update was successful, and the drive shows in the system devices as a DH20A3S. My problem is that it won't read any disks that I put in it. Any suggestions, or ideas as to problem? Thanks in advance.

I just check specs again and find out that I used the wrong firmware upgrade...I used 9V66HT716WIN.rar instead of EV66HT716WIN.rar...so I will have to reflash the drive.
