i have yet to try this version but i can say with the previous firmware i cant even burn the cmc a3 stuff without it skipping except at 4x.. anything higher and it can barely be played back..

Hi armada. When you say "previous firmware", do you mean official firmware from LiteOn's site?

The firmware here has come a very long way since that firmware. I personally burn my video media at 8x and have no problems but this is usually PRODISC R03.

Give the latest test firmware a try and let Wind and the rest of us know how you get on.

Edit: Note the second consecutive burn of my above PRODISC R04 media had much lower jitter, which is good for video playback, so you might what to try two burns of your media for best results.

Can you also change in your CD Speed options on the transfer rate tab, and the disc quality tab, the maximun RPM to 20x so we can see the end of the burns.

Here Is some tests the 1st is with all tech turned off
the second with OHT ,HT , over speed on
both were copied at advertised speed at 16X
the 1st one has high jitter (i really don't know why)
but i consider this good regardring this kind of media which is widely available at my area with really good price

But I'm not very understand about the changes.
Does it mean that the same MID can contain 8 strategies, and then the drive is able to store 4 different MID (no more repeated MID like now)?

'best' would be only one.

So, 8 MIDs' best learnt result means 8 different MIDs' learnt results, which are best for those MIDs.
Furthermore, 4 discs' learnt results will be stored, no matter what MID they are.

Verbatim MCC004, 16x media burned at 20x, All On (5:07/5:01)

This is what I call a perfect result for media burned at 20x in this external enclosure. The drive handled the buffer underrun perfectly and with the minimum delay, downshifting quickly to 16x. Fantastic!
