^I cant get my setup to do a 20X burn, it will only go to 18X even with the exact settings and media used above. Could it be my processor?

I think it depends on the media. I tried 5 batches of MCC 004 and only two (PAPA16LE and PAPA26KL) burned at 20x.

I was able to get a CMC M01 to burn in under 5mins, max was 19.1X so I guess it is up to the media.
Funny thing, one of my best batches of MCC 03RG20, the test firmware will only allow 18X.
@Wind, dont you think this media could handle 20X burning?
@CodeKing, does your FB, OS firmware allow 20X on this media?

No. I haven't removed any of the limits on 16x media burning at 20x, because I would imagine there was a good reason for this. Hopefully in the future the user and drive will be able to make the decision, rather than the development team.

I dont have an A4 but I am finding that the A3 is starting to beat my Pio 112D
even DL that I burned at 6X. How great is it that we have wind and Codeking to help us develope the firmware. It has been getting better and better! Look at some of those 20X burns! Can they get any better? They just might.

In your experience do you think that MCC 03RG20 could handle 20X with no problems? Why would they allow CMC to go 20X and not MCC??

16x overspeeding of 8x media and 20x overspeeding of some 16x media. 8x overspeeding of 2.4x DL media.

High RPM 12x burning with a burn time of just over 6 minutes (test firmware) and sub 5 minute 20x burning, however, 18x is just over 5 minutes anyway, about 5:06.

My 20A3P is quieter than my Pioneer 112D but vibration can be slightly higher.

I'm a little confused

Doesn't the 20A4P also have overspeeding of media and high RPM at the start of a burn via your FB EOS firmware?
