Because of time and OPC area limitation, the first learning result come from default initial data would be very possible not the best result.
So if I restrict my media to 5 ( or 6 ) MIDs the drive will continuously enhance the burns. is that correct ?

No! I meant I will store 6 discs' data no matter what MID they were.
For example, you burn a MCC004 disc and then continuously burn 6 RitekG05 discs, then the learnt data of MCC004 will gone! Next time you put a MCC004 disc, drive will start learning with default write strategy. In the other hand, if you put again a RitekG05 disc, drive will pick up the best one of the 6 learnt result of G05 in the drive as initial learning data.

Well, Wind, you've worked miracles already...even if you can't do anything for the A1/A4, we still appreciate your help.

Interesting. I think that here everybody, perhaps except COdeKing, thought that were learned 6 strategies of 6 different MIDs.

Good to know that I wasn't the only one with the "wrong idea" about that.

Verbatim 16x +R ( MCC004 MIT Prodisc ) burned at 20x. OHT,FHT,OS on SB off

1st burn with that media using HT689.

Quality: Very good
Burn time: 4:49 ( is this a new record for 20A3P ? )
The quality scans look somewhat confuse at the end.

The jitter is adequated for a 20x burn.

The "learning" looks to be working for PIE and jitter.

Mmmh, in the A3 scan seems that OHT at the end has chosen a wrong strategy (for PIE, not PIF) but in the 6S scan OHT strategy seems ok.

Add: I think that only Wind with CATS may understand if OHT works fine or not.

I just notice in burning graphics that the buffer is almost all time at 98%-100%. Is this because the drive reports "wrong" levels of buffer or because it manages the buffer in a more efficient way ?

A nice result with an excellent time. I would like to have seen the jitter stay more level though.

I repeated 'Burn 1' a couple of times, the BenQ scan was rubbish on both of them - The LiteOn one was ok on both. Why the big difference on the BenQ scans? It seems odd that I have to enable 'Advanced' settings to get a decent scan

LIGHTNING UK!,

Just some thoughts.

1. The write strategy in the firmware may not be the best for the particular lot of MCC004 you have. HT obviously improved the burn. Lately Verbatim has become somewhat variable in quality.

2. BENQ's loose their mind when jitter is too high. I would like to see what Beta/Jitter from a Plextor looks like on that first burn. Often this can really explain why the BENQ looses it.
