| Drive - LITE-ON LH-20A1P / KL05 Enhanced by "C0deKing" MID: YUDEN000 T03 16x DVD+R (Verbatim brand) Burned with: Nero CDSpeed Burned at: 20x (normal rated speed) Time: 5:09 HT=on/OS=on/OHT=on Special note : Is it unusual there are no dips at all for the writing graph? I'm sure all the features in Smart-Burn are on. This happened to TYG03 also.

| To be honest I think this drive would have done better to be sold as a P-CAV 18x drive, but of course that would not have looked as good on the box.

| No problem. So it doesn't confuse people as to the result they would expect to get from EOS, it might pay to use the 20A1P thread or even revive the strategy swapping thread.

| Here is some old 4x Memorex media had laying around burnt at 12x all items checked in SmartBurn except disable smart burn I selected a burn speed of 16x however during the burn it decided to go through at 12x...I take it this is part of the smart burn option? |

Compare a burn with this madia on LG GSA-H12N drive burned at 18x. . |

| Since getting this drive I haven't had much luck with any media at 20x.... So since trying this new firmware, I figured I'd start out at 18x and work my way up to 20x if the media was capable at 18x. Media used was Fujifilm 16x +R. I was pleasantly surprised at the results, and cannot remember ever getting this good of an 18x burn. I'll try 20x with this media in the near future and post my results.

| Here's an prodisc manufactured verbatim mcc004 burned at 20x speed using the fb-eos firmware. These are good results for this media. |

| LH20A1P with Modified Firmware (Both overspeed and fastwrite) TDKG02 media (2x rated) Burnt at 16x using Nero 7 DVD film profile All options on (OS, HT, OHT) All I can say is........ OMFG!!!! This is a better burn than I get from my Verb 16x +R media and these were discs that were going to be ditched as no-one wanted slow media anymore.

| @C0deKing, thanks for the great fb-eos firmware. I have a question about this 20A1P I recently bought. It works great, hasn't produced any coasters yet, and write quality also seems good. However, while burning (even though both buffer's are full) it slows down to a halt and then starts up again at full rpm. It does this quiet a few times sometimes during a burn. I have one other of the same drive which doesn't have any slowdown problems. What do you think is causing the disc to slow down completely so many times during a burn? Could it be a bad drive that's having problems with focus tracking error? |
