Here's a same burn and scan with the test firmware:
Traxdata full printable
Mediacode: Ritek R03-002

Burned @ 8x
Nero 6.6.1.4

I just don't understand why the Benq DW1640 (BSOB) burns them really good (see my previous post) and the Lite-on turns it into a coaster...... I'm going to try to return the 165Ps6 and get me a pioneer 111d or a nec 4570.

Panasonic branded printable TYG02 burned with DVDDecrypter 3.5.4.0 @ 8x with everything on.

The DVD-R lead-in problem seems to be at least partly solved with this test fw. I have no problems with TYG02 and MXL RG03 - but MCC 03RG20 still struggles to be read in other drives and players.

I burned a few MCC004's at 12x everything on with Imgburn.

I do have 1 question on the ASPI Layer. I was running 4.60 but Killed it to get
Smartburn program working and then copied WNASPI32.DLL to my system32 folder, do I need to do anytihng else?

I have not used Kprobe since my Lite-on 811s days so please comment on the quality.

Here is a Kprobe scan and the same disk scanned with my BenQ 1655.

Thanks

165P6S - MV8D

RICOHJPNR02 @ 12x
HT: On
OS: On
OHT: Off
Burn time: 6:17

For a disc scanned in this particular drive, this is a very good result.

It would be helpful, when posting new FW versions, to specify if they have riplocks or not, or any other mods. Also, people might be more inclined to try them if they are available with such improvements. People do like to use their burners for more than just testing, sometimes.

Nice result C0deKing but I'm curious to see the transfer rate result with another 16x drive @ 16x max. I doubt it will be much worse (like mine). Is it possible for you?

Also CD/DVD Speed disc type is Blank DVD

Here are my RICOHJPN R02, burned with MV7U @12x (HT/OS =on). The images are displayed as follwed: K-Probe, transfer rate with 165P6S (12x max) and NEC 3540A (16x max). I've similar results with several other, different media too
