Ok here is an old one in case it still of interest, a CD.
TDK 32x burnt @32x

For those of you experienced with CD what are criterias regarding C1/C2. From what I got from a 2003 thread no C2, c1 average of less than 0.5 and a max of less than 20 is good.
thks

New batch of MKM_A02 +RW 4X (branded verbatim)
1) MKM_A02 at 4X, not good
2) MKM_A02 at 2.4X on another disc and not better
returned the batch and bought Sony +RW 4x (SONY_S11)
3) SONY_S11 at 4X, much better

Can you show some scans you've made from the drive? What media did you use to cause your burner to stop working?

Have you tried to test burn more? It typically takes at least the 3rd test burn to get a start.

Slightly out of subject but just tought I would share. Same burn scanned at 4X and then scanned at 8X just to compare the impact of scanning speed!!!
Tried also at 2x with results almost similar to 4X.
Not sure 8x scanning is that good at this point, at least not with my drive on this media.

HT/OS/SB all ON burned @8x

Changed the media now to DVD-R MCC2RG20

PIF and PI decreased, with this could I conclude that my RitekR03's +R are crap ?

Not necessarily, It seems to be an issue with other 6S Lite-ON drives aswell, as Appie72 in the LiteOn 165P6S Test Firmware Results thread is having similar problems.
