Lite-On LTR-48246s "Invalid Write State" "Could not perform EndTrack" Errors

Hi im kinda n00bish when it comes to burners so please forgive any mistakes I make.

My LTR-48246s seems to fail 50% of the time ever since i upgraded to a Soltek SL-75FRN2 R (nforce2) mobo and installed Windows service pack 1. Im using Nero 5.5.9.2 Bundled software and 50% of the time i get the error "Invalid Write State" then "Could not perform EndTrack". Before this on my MSI K7TPRO2-A (VIA KT133) motherboard it used to work completely fine.

I use Ricoh 1-32x Type 80 700mb CDR's to burn and burn at 48x.

Unfortunatly i cant provide you with a log because in my rage i forgot to save it, and when i tried burning the cd again it work fine with no probs. Ill try and get a log posted the next time it fails.

Also can someone explain firmware to me? so far i get the impression its the BIOS for your CDRW

Thanx

System Specs:

Also try writing at lower speeds and try other media types as this error is often caused by bad media.....

I didnt install the nforce2 IDE drivers. Just ran a 3 simulations in a row and it worked fine...really weird. seems as if it only has these errors when actually burning hmm

Ill try writing at a lower speen next time. But i still want my burner to work at its top speed.

Actually ive tried other media but they seem to be worse. Others ive tried are Laser 650mb and King 700mb.

thanx for the help so far.
