Wot do i have to make out of this
!!! Are Scans getting USELESS these days or wot!!!!
Two different scans from the same DL Ridata disk 8x certified
burned @2,4x Liteon 20A1s GL08 drive
SB = on
HT=off
OHT=off
OS=off
I know wot ur thinking maybe scannning them faster, but the results looks wurse when i do that. Except for the 20A1S model, one time i tried and scanned an media at 16x and it all started good but then again, half way through i got terrible peaks from then on.
Also, ull notice that the Sata model of liteon reports MUCH higher PIE"s than its IDE sister but the PIF"s looks actualy the same more or less from the looks of all my scans i took so far. Also, the Sata model can appearantly take an jitter scan from the second layer aswell oposed to the 20A1P model. But it doesnt measure the jitter that well, its very high and slow aswell while measuring the jitter!
I coud do an TRT scan on that dual layer, but ive read liteons arent reliable for that. But given its good reputation for Quality scans, arent those trt scan s not an LIl bit creditable! i ask myself?
AND I WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR TO U POEPLE , that this dual layer disk played just fine in my stand alone whitout an hickup so far, so go figure
!!!!!!!!!!
So, i thought the max treshold for PIES PIFs were 280 = PIES and 8 = PIFs
U think those scans are
worthy to u !? -

Don't know what to say but the 2nd scan is for sure the high score of all times here at CD/DVD.

Hopefully this isn't too OT but I didn't want to start a new thread: How come Liteon only officially offers the 9L02 firmware on their site when recent drives are shipping with 9L08?
I did a search here and found a link to that newer FW and the download address indicated it was coming from a Liteon site -- perhaps an unlisted archive? The 20A1S I just bought was manufactured in August and came with 9L08 so I guess I'm okay, but it seems weird Liteon only offers an older version. Also strange that they don't list the 20A1S in their products section yet they DO list the 20A1L -- which has no listing at all in the firmware section.
Oh well... all it has to do is be a good, consistent scanner and I'll be happy. -

On http://www.liteonit.com.tw the LH-20A1S is listed and you get 9L08 as latest firmware. __________________

Hello, this Liton link is only showing the 9L02 firmware when downloaded, not the 9L08 latest firmware, nevermind I found the 9L08 here http://www.liteonit.com/DOWNLOADS/OD...e/RW209L08.zip Thanks.Quote:On http://www.liteonit.com.tw the LH-20A1S is listed and you get 9L08 as latest firmware.

Hi all!
This week i have bought a DH20A1S with UX14 firmware version.
Because i wont have a drive id like ATAPI A DH20A1S i have crossflashed my drive to LH-20A1S immediatly.
Coming from 3S series, i have done some test with this firmware. The first with default setting, the second with HT enabled.
I'm waiting for your comments
P.S.: What are the differences between DH20A1S and LH-20A1S???

It's the PLDS naming structure changed the LH to DH, and that's mostly the only change. It's the same drive. [It could also be OEM. Although I don't remember anyone buying a retail drive with DH-20A1S, it could occur with the way the DH-20A3x and DH-20A4x drives are names...]Quote:Hi all!

BTW, those scans are nice.
At what speed did you burn? The PIE mountain may go away after a few more burns of the MCC 004 with HT enabled, or at a lower speed.

Both burns are 16x.
The PIE "muntain"
is the worst problem for now!
I will post more scans
Question: when HT is enables is only for the media code or for all?
I see that with HT the PIF are low!
