| Lite On Bitsetting utility question Do you have to run the bitsetting utility every time before you burn a DVD? The MadDog utility for the NEC drive only needs to be run once, set it and forget it. Just wondering if the Lite On bitsetting utility can be set and forgotten about like the Maddog NEC bitsetting utility. |

| Re: Lite On Bitsetting utility question The LiteOn will remember the bitsetting you choose, and you don't have to re-run the bitsetting utility unless you want to change the setting again. But you have to insert a disc of the type you want to bitset before the utility will allow you to change anything!

| Re: Lite On Bitsetting utility question The 16x models store the booktype-setting in the EEPROM, and are not reset at reboot. My 1633, now 1653 is already since BS0R default DVD-ROM. Now, with CS0T, it still is. Even flashing the new firmwares the setting stayed the same, very convinient. The only exception was when I flashed Sony firmware. When using Sony firmware you will have to use the OmniPatcher and check auto-bitsetting.  Leo
