9L09 is the latest for the 20A1S. Can someone who has BenQ drives and the 20A1S publish some jitter scans on audio CD's? So far I've tried a couple of TY audio CD's and they play fine on my standalone players, but just would like to know has the jitter problem being solved for this firmwaere.
IMO LiteON should have solved these problems long ago. If I find a single disc that has problems playing I will return my drive immediately, and will never by anything from them again.

I have a BenQ drive, but don't have the 20A1S
.I have tried LL0D in my LH-20A1H and the problem still exist. By the way, can someone post some scans of the current LiteOn drives (iHAS120/220) to see if the jitter problem has been resolved? __________________

Yet another thing. Can crosflashing to Benq DW200S solve the jitter problem with Cds. Since good CD writing is important to me, Ican crossflash, but don't hava a drive that reports jitter on CDs to check how is the jitter with the BenQ firmware -

Just one question ... if this is a way to resolve the problem, is it possible also to use media code speed edit to copy only CD writing strategies from Benq to LiteOn ?Quote:Yet another thing. If this works, however, would be a silly thing, since LiteOn has bought BenQ optical division in 2006 ......
Best wishes

Why go to these lengths when the jitter problem has already been solved with the test firmwares, e.g. LLV3 for 20A1H.Quote:Yet another thing. Can crosflashing to Benq DW200S solve the jitter problem with Cds.
If I'm not mistaken, MCSE only looks at MIDs for DVD media and not for CDs. -

Not really, the test firmware fixes some MIDs, but not all. Maybe Gyxx tried the test firmware and still has the jitter problem.Quote:Why go to these lengths when the jitter problem has already been solved with the test firmwares, e.g. LLV3 for 20A1H.__________________

AFAIK the problem has been solved only for 20A1L and not for 20A1S and only for the strategies for 48x writing speed. What I'd like to have is a normally functionning 20A1S unit at any speed it supports.Quote:Why go to these lengths when the jitter problem has already been solved with the test firmwares, e.g. LLV3 for 20A1H.
.
Anything other than that counts in my book as a bad unit. -

You're right, MCSE doesn't work for CD strategies, when i wrote I was at work and coudn't test MCSE .... do you know if there's a software that can do the trick ?Quote:Why go to these lengths when the jitter problem has already been solved with the test firmwares, e.g. LLV3 for 20A1H.

Anyway, as multiwrong wrote, the test firmware works only with 48x strategy, lower speeds hadn't jet been improved .... and as juancdg wrote, not all the 48x strategy has been fixed .....
I can understand that a problem is difficult to be solved, but as i can understand this time the bug has been discovered months ago and not fixed jet .....
I think it is not acceptable that my 4 years old Nec 2500 makes better CDs (Jitter, errors) than my new 20A1H, even with hi quality supports, like TY Verbatim CDs .....
I would expect at least an official firmware release that improves the situation, expecially since this seems an error that still goes on with the latest burner series, as something not fixed that continues to survive ....
Best wishes to all

IMO this is not what I call a responsible bahaviour from LiteON folks. We know that there are LiteON engineers participating in the forum. They are well aware of the problem, and instead of working hard and release an official firmware to address this serious flaw, we had some patches here and there, and these are available only for some models and for the people rading this forum. How about the 99.9% of the consumers that have no clue why their new drive cannot produce a usable CD.
THIS DOESN'T SOUND SERIOUS TO ME!!!
Meanwhile my LiteIn drive has been withdrawn from my PC and is collecting dust in a cupboard. I've passed mu "no question asked" return date, and it will be very difficult to prove that something is wrong with the drive in order to claim a refund, so I'm forced to keep the junk.
